About Us

We build community.
IWC is committed to the educational and networking needs of Indiana creative writers.

Indiana Writers' Consortium inspires and builds a community of creative writers. We are the premier group in Northwest Indiana dedicated to educating writers from the ground up through speakers, seminars, and children's programs. IWC provides educational and networking opportunities for writers in all stages of their careers. We also sponsor an annual children's project, where we partner with local schools to bring poetry into the classroom. Our membership is diverse, covering all genres. Our members and associate members include teachers and health care professionals, lawyers and full-time writers. Membership is open to unpublished as well as published writers. Although our members primarily live and work in Northwest Indiana, we welcome full members from any part of the state, out-of-state associate members who have significant literary ties to Indiana, and student members who live or attend school in Indiana. IWC is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Indiana in 2008. It is also a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Come join us.
